In Indonesia’s Garut district of West Java province, poultry depopulation is being conducted by culling around 2,000 fowls, as a preventive measure against the spread of avian flu in this area.

According to Andi, this mass culling is to be done on 27th and 28th August. Previously, around 3,528 fowls were killed. Totally, 5,528 birds would have been killed.

He said that after the depopulation, vaccination of 70,000 fowls would be done. There are plans for vaccinating 3,00,000 fowls in Garut.
